About Me
In addition to being a coach I am also a registered art therapist, meditation instructor and artist.
I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York. I was blessed with a large, loving family who always encouraged me.
I received a Master's degree in Art Therapy from The George Washington University. As an art therapist I worked with young children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly in various settings including hospitals, schools, and day treatment centers. I did extensive clinical work with individuals with histories of trauma, working and training alongside national experts in the field. During this time I helped conduct research using The Diagnostic Drawing Series, an art therapy assessment tool.
I have taught graduate classes in psychology and art therapy in university settings. I have always been fascinated by the relationship between science and art, the left brain and the right brain.
I took time off to raise my family. During this time I did a lot of writing, blogging, traveling, and self-study. In the end, life has always been my biggest teacher.
I have been practicing meditation for ten years, and teaching for seven years.
My husband and I raised our three children in Hawaii — they are now young adults. In my free time, I enjoy writing, gardening, hiking, photography, painting and yoga.
